Medical Degree or foreign equivalent plus West Virginia Medical License or the ability to obtain and a minimum of 3 years of US medical residency. Duties include diagnosing, treating and providing continuous care to hospital inpatients. Admitting patients for hospital stays. Prescribing medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients. Ordering and interpreting the results of tests such as laboratory tests. Communicating with patients' primary care physicians upon admission, when treatment plans change, and at discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care. Overseeing health professionals such as nurses.
